<procdesc>Many of the islands on the subject mylar were incomplete and therefore were digitized as polylines as opposed to polygons. Upon completion of digitization, MapInfo file was exported to a ".mif" format and a transform clause was inserted to provide the x and y displacement needed to match straight lat / long projection of the underlying shoreline file. (Bayout) The specific statement used was as follows: "TRANSFORM 0, 0, -.00425819, .001555876" where -.00425819 represents the westward (x) shift in degrees longitude and .001555876 represents the northward (y) shift in degrees latitude. The resulting .mif file was imported back into MapInfo for Windows 3x.
File was later tranlated to an ESRI shapefile using MapInfo's translator utility "ArcLink".</procdesc>
